Warner Bros. unveiled a first teaser for “Mickey 17”, the next film by Bong Joon-ho worn by Robert Pattinson. A short video that announces the release date: March 29, 2024 in the United States.
Bong Joon-ho, after the success of Parasite
We didn’t wait Parasite (2019) to know that Bong Joon-ho was a talented filmmaker. The Korean director will have marked more than one with Memories of Murder (2003)his second feature film, before the excellent The Host (2006). Then, if sharp moviegoers will have certainly seen Mother (2009), the filmmaker began to reach a wider audience with Snowpiercer, the Transperceneige (2013), in English and notably with Chris Evans in the cast.
Thereafter, Bong Joon-ho remained in an international production with Okja (2017), available on Netflix, before returning to a 100% Korean film with Parasite. It is with this that the director obtained his greatest success in France (almost 2 million admissions) and worldwide recognition. He was indeed rewarded in 2019 with the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festivalbefore leaving with the Golden Globes, the BAFTA and the César for best foreign film, as well as the Oscars for Best Picture, Best International Film, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
Robert Pattinson reveals himself in mickey 17
Faced with such success, Bong Joon-ho must not have had much difficulty finding funding for his next movie, mickey 17. For this, he has partnered with the studio Warner Bros. So he decided to try his hand at an English-language film one more time. Above all, the director chose a renowned actor to carry his feature film, in the person of Robert Pattinson.
The interpreter of Batman continues to add to his CV collaborations with prestigious authors. As announced at the start of 2022, mickey 17 is the adaptation of the science fiction novel by Edward Ashton. The film will tell the story of a “consumable”, a disposable employee sent with an expedition tasked with colonizing the ice world Niflheim. If a mission becomes too dangerous, he takes over because, if he dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.
mickey 17 won’t hit theaters until 2024, but Warner Bros. has already shared a first teaser (in the front and end of the article).
