With “Interview With The VampireA very special horror series is coming soon. On the one hand, this is based on the classic vampire novel “Chronik der Vampire’ and ‘Interview with a Vampire’ by Anne Rice. On the other hand, the cinema adaptation from 1994 with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt is of course no less famous. Sender AMC shows courage, dares to do a new edition – and therefore does not shy away from comparison with the iconic versions that already exist. And now confidence in the project seems to be bursting at the seams…
… then even before “Interview With The Vampire” on October 2, 2022 in the USA, the series has now been renewed for a second season. At least the broadcaster seems to be quite satisfied with the work of series creator Rolin Jones (“Weeds”, “Boardwalk Empire”). This is a clear signal, especially nowadays: because while elsewhere new formats are stamped out again after a season if the ratings are low, “Interview With The Vampire” in the “The Walking DeadAfter all, homeland AMC has two seasons to inspire the audience.
When and where “Interview With The Vampire’ will start in Germany is not yet known. But if you want to get in the mood for the new interpretation, you can simply read the novel or watch the 1994 film version again. These are not only available on DVD and Blu-ray, but are currently also available as a streaming subscription from WOW:

Incidentally, connoisseurs of the original should first of all be prepared for the fact that the series adaptation has at least one major innovation in store for them. Because “Interview With The Vampire“ will not be set in the 18th century, but in the 1910s.
Sam Reid (“The Limehouse Golem”), who follows in the footsteps of Brad Pitt as Lestat, and Jacob Anderson await you there. The actor known as “Grey Worm” from “Game Of Thrones” rode the Tom Cruise successor and mimed Louis – who this time, however, does not run a plantation, but is a brothel owner in New Orleans. In addition, however, much remains the same:
Also in the series, the story is told through the dialogue between Louis and the reporter Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian, “The Black Diamond”), and also in the series, with Claudia, a kind of “daughter” joins Louis and Lestat, who in young years ago was bitten by a bloodsucker and never grows up since Vampire don’t get old. The role once played by Kirsten Dunst is now played by Bailey Bass, who will also be featured in “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water” and then also in the further “Avatar’ sequels will be seen.
Incidentally, director Alan Taylor took a seat behind the camera. The director of movies like “Thor: The Dark Kingdom”, “Terminator: Genisys” and some “Game Of Thrones” episodes staged the first two episodes.
