As well as continuing the Alien series, Disney will soon be unleashing the Predator again in the sci-fi adventure Prey (aka Predator 5). The teaser trailer that has now been released gives you a small impression of it.
After “Predator – Upgrade” fell far short of expectations at the box office, the signs were not particularly good that the sci-fi franchise, which started in 1987 with the iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger hit “Predator” and then already With “Predator 2” and “Predators” continuedwill be expanded further in the near future.

In November 2020, however, it was surprisingly revealed that Disney not only wanted to revive the “Alien” series (set in the same fictional universe), but also worked on a new “Predator” film, which is a prequel target. In the meantime, the project has also come true – and with “Prey”, the new appearance of the murderous cult alien will be released on August 5, 2022 on the US streaming service Hulu (largely owned by Disney). It is considered likely that the film (like much other Hulu content) will be released on Disney + in this country in the near future – when exactly is still unclear.
Two warriors meet
The first teaser trailer that has now been released does not yet reveal much of the content of “Prey”, but it does herald the big clash between two completely different warriors. In the center of the prequel, which is set 300 years in the past, there are no muscle-bound mercenaries, rat-snout police officers or a squad of super-soldiers. The main character in this case is the young Naru (Amber Midthunder), who belongs to the Comanche tribe.
Desperate to prove her worth as a warrior, she will do everything to ensure that she is accepted as a full member of the tribe. As the teaser now shows, Naru seems to have picked up the scent of a very special prey – namely the Predator himself. And of course he’s not stingy about accepting the fight, as the three red laser points on Naru’s face make clear. This probably also means: The alien trimmed for hunting accepts Naru as an equal opponent!
“Prey” was directed by “The Boysand 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg.
