Horizon Forbidden West has just rolled out a new 1.05 update to improve its copy. The fixes are quite numerous and touch on everything (graphics, bugs, gameplay, etc.)
Like other open worlds before it, Horizon Forbidden West needs patches to address issues that the developers may have missed. This is what the first update 1.05 is available now.
General improvements
Anyone who turns their PS5 (or PS4) back on and launches Horizon Forbidden West will be subject to downloading the patch 1.05which weighs 451.7 MB. At least the weight is reasonable for once.
This update corrects general concerns, others related to quests, activities, gameplay, or game performance. Without speaking bugs and crashes that could occur. In HDR mode, the image regains its normal sharpness. Now the “Second Chance” skill works, logically, without a hitch.
When using weapon abilities, the camera will position itself as intended and no longer go all over the place. The patch also claims to have fixed streaming vulnerabilities, including villages appearing/disappearing under certain circumstances.
To know everything, the studio has compiled a list, a patch notes available at this address.
A new patch in the boxes for Horizon Forbidden West
There is still a long way to go but some graphical issues are already identified and will be corrected in a future patch. This concerns flickering, sharpness as well as saturation of the screen during camera movement.
On the other hand, when going into the Battle Pits, the worry of infinite Loadouts should be a thing of the past. Aloy’s outfit, blurred in photo mode, will display correctly. Finally, we note-taking into account a problem in the quest “Reach the stars”. In this one, some players may be unable to interact with a carcass which blocks any progress.
Obviously, the experience will vary from player to player. On our side, it was above all the clipping that bothered us as detailed in our Horizon Forbidden West test.
After several days, how are you experiencing Aloy’s new adventure? Are the problems frequent? What do you think of the game overall? Tell us everything in the how areas.
