The 9th and 9th Seattle Turkish Film Festival, which will start on December 4th, brings together films that deal with the criticism of the system through human relations with the American audience this year.
Banking, drug use, immigration, monetary problems, bureaucratic obstacles, the problems that the country faces every day. In addition to the directors who entered the industry later, young directors are also in front of the audience at STFF in America with their films.
This year, nearly 200 short films participated in the “SHORT FILM COMPETITION” organized by STFF every year and gaining popularity rapidly. 10 short films selected among the best films will reach the audience during the festival.

PEOPLE ARE DIVIDED
The opening film of 2021 Seattle Turkish Film Festival – PEOPLE SEPARATE IN TWO – is meeting with the audience in the SIFF movie theater.
In this film where the tools of the capitalist system are criticized, director Tunç Şahin tells a banking story that never slows down.
Burcu Biricik, Pınar Deniz, Aras Aydın, Başak Daşman, Erdem Akakçe, Nezaket Erden, Gökay Müftüoğlu and Sabahattin Yakut made a memorable movie together.
The 57th Antalya Film Festival Best Screenplay Award was given to Tunç Şahin, and the Best Supporting Actress Award was given to Nezaket Erden for her role in this movie.

“School Shave”, one of the most popular films of the 9th Seattle Turkish Film Festival Samet Yıldız, Ekin Koç and Mahir İpek share the lead roles in the film, which is about bureaucratic obstacles, desperation and impossibilities in a school in a rural area of Anatolia.
The film directed by Ferit Karahan, Best Film-Ferit Karahan, Best Screenplay-Ferit Karahan,Gülistan Acet, Best Editing-Sercan Sezgin, Ferit Karahan, Hayedeh Safiyar, Ankara 32nd Film Festival in the 58th Golden Orange National Film Competition – He won the Best Supporting Actor, Ekin Koç awards.
DIRTY ORDER
Another STFF film this year is from Nesimi Tetik, who made a name for herself with the film “Dust Spirit” in 2014, after the short film “My Mother Is Learning Cinema” in 2006. Set in Çanakkale, the film tells about the relationships between a mother and her two daughters, and how different lives can be lived under the same roof. Betül Esener, who wrote the script of the movie together with Nesimi Tetik, also shares one of her leading roles. Other players are Dudu Yetik and Asiye Dinçsoy.
The film won these two actors the “Cahide Sonku” award at the 57th Antalya Film Festival. Asiye Dinçsoy was also deemed worthy of the Best Actress award at the 40th Istanbul Film Festival.
CRACK
Fikret Reyhan is the director of the movie “Crack”. The second feature film of Reyhan, who is actually a physics engineer and entered the industry with the short film he made in 2009, Çatlak is on the STFF screening list this year.
The film starts with Fatih (Hakan Emre Ünal)’s financial difficulties while working in England and unable to pay the debt he received from Ayhan (Görkem Mertsöz) and asking Ayhan’s family for his money. The family’s conversations and reckonings, which are shaped around the payment of the debt, have been crafted with a mastery that will make you say “the truth itself” without slowing the pace of the film.
