As always when we start talking about Nvidia it’s a fairground for rumors, leaks, and different information from insiders. This time it concerns future RTX 4000s.
Kopite7kimi (the providential man?) who had made very good precise predictions for the generation of Nvidia Ampère (RTX3000) cards has just spoken again on his Twitter account.
New information for Nvidia cards
Nvidia RTX 4080 will use AD103 chips, be built with 16G GDDR6X, have TGP similar to GA102.
The RTX 4070 will use AD104 chips, be built with 12G GDDR6, 300W.
These two models have not yet started to be tested, but they will be soon.
As always, this series of tweets should be taken with a grain of salt, but very clearly there is a good chance that all of this will turn out to be just for this Nvidia news:
- 24 GB GDDR6X for the RTX 4090
- 16 GB GDDR6X for RTX 4080
- 12 GB GDDR6 for the RTX 4070
Even if it is always difficult to comment on rumors, we have chosen to tell you about this one on DashFUN because it comes to bringing a different story to what we could read previously. Indeed, we are still far from the 48 GB GDDR6X of previous rumors concerning the Nvidia RTX 4090
This time also no information on the number of CUDA cores of the next Nvidia cards but many rumors mention 18,432 for the RTX 4090.
Now, it remains to be seen when they will be unveiled to the general public but also when they will be released. It is better to cross your fingers because the shortage may well also affect this next generation with full force.
